Murwillumbah Marquee and Party Hire is run by Uki locals Greg and Ruth Smith, who originally bought two large marquees, chairs and catering equipment for their main business, the well-respected outdoor education centre, Inter-Action Experiential Learning at Mebbin, near Kunghur. Greg and Ruth, who have a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people, use the marquees to support numerous “youth at risk” outdoor education programs.

“Every time people from around the Tweed region saw the marquees set up, I would get inquiries about hiring them out for private functions. It just made sense to start hiring them out when we wern't using them, and we use the proceeds from the hire business to support local youth initiatives” Greg said.
